Screw It Let's Do It!

There are several appealing features about this book. The main one is that it is both cheap (available for around £2.99) and also quite short. Therefore if you are looking for a quick read and don't want to have to get too involved in what you're reading, this short book is ideal.

The fact this book is written by Richard Branson of course lends it credibility and makes it particularly interesting to see how he has achieved the success he has. Whilst being a successful businessman does not guarantee also being a good author, the subject of this book and the fact Richard draws on his life experiences and tells you about his personal journey makes the book both interesting but also teases out some interesting points on how to do business, and how to run your business.

The book mainly distils the 'lessons' through his "lessons in life", which use a practical example of something that has happened in his career and how he has learnt how to behave in business as a result. The chapters are headed simply with something suitably positive such as 'have fun!' or 'challenge yourself', and one of the key messages is that Branson really has challenged himself through his career and has reaped the benefits as a result.

Because of the overall positive tone of the book, it can be quite motivational, and so dipping in and out of it or re-reading sections when you have a difficult meeting coming up or some task in the office you have been putting off springs up, it may be worth a quick re-read. Particularly useful for the work at home or small business, or anyone who needs a little motivation to kick start a certain area of their business. Overall: a good read!
