Business Angels

The most common question is 'what is a business angel?' If you've looked up in your list of patron saints and not come across them, you might be confused.

Essentially a business angel is a wealthy person, or group thereof, who invest in businesses for financial gain. Invariably they won't have any contact with the business beforehand, but may get fairly involved in the business once they invest, so this is something to bear in mind if you are thinking about this option.

Because of their requirement for financial gain in virtually all instances (this isn't philanthropy in action) they will tend to have a strict idea of the profile of the sort of business they are looking for, usually one with high growth potential in a shortish time period so they have a good chance of realising some profit on their investment.

They also tend to be sector specific, knowing one area well and specialising in it, though some business angels are willing to consider a broader spectrum of businesses.

Getting in front of these individuals or syndicates and identifying them, working out what to present and how can be a time consuming and difficult business.

Our business experts have a breadth of knowledge and experience in this area, and crucially the contacts, network and wherewithall to help you get your proposal in front of a business angel.
