Advertising in a charity book, does it work??...

Hi,
Just a quick question what experience have people had with advertising in a charity magazine? for example what sort of feedback or business has it generated??

No experience I'm afraid... but I guess the key questions will be the same as with any form of advertising:

- what is the circulation of the magazine?
- what area/topic does it cover?

Thanks for your advice above but since posting this on here I have had loads of feedback from people on another forum, only to find out that the one I have gone for is a scam. I have now sent the company in question my cancellation letter and e-mail.

Hi,
Just to let you know that I did send Vardis a letter of cancellation and 2 e-mail's and surprise, surprise i had the Rep try ring me. he called me about 15 times in 1 day and i just didn't answer, and he finally sent me a text saying he needed to talk to me about next years proposal. so I sent him a text back saying 'not interested, don't call me again'. Haven't heard anything since than lets see what happens in Jan 2008, which is when I was supposed to be receiving the sample ad.

Yes whenever I hear anything about 'charity calendar' or wallplanner or magazine I run a mile - and I hear about them quite a bit (see my moans in other forums here!)

Sadly there may be genuine charities that cold call about this sort of thing but if they do then they've been run out of town by the scammers.

Will you be able to get your money back?

Luckily for me I posted this thread on here before I sent them any money. But as you said it is the genuine charities that will suffer due to companies like this one.

I agree with the other posts here. There is one operator who regularly starts new companies doing this sort of thing. It is a complete scam. For more on this read the Daily Mirror article on him below:
