Coffee & Alcohol...

Hi,

I already posted this message once, but it vanished for some unknown reason, but I would still be grateful for opinions on the idea.

I came up with this idea after pouring a coffee liquer into my hot cup of coffee and was pleasantly surprised at the resulting flavour. Since then I have been looking around at various websites and it would appear there are a many recipes for mixing different alcoholic beverages with coffee, tea and hot chocolate (e.g. Mixing brandy or rum with coffee, or creme de menthe with hot chocolate).

The idea is this:

In a similar vein to coffee shop chains (e.g. Costa Coffee, Cafe Nero, etc) people can visit the coffee lounge of an evening and enjoy a hot cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate. The difference being that these hot beverages contain alcohol. An alternative to bars and pubs, it would be a relaxing place to unwind in the evenings in a cafe like setting, with a hot alcoholic drink, (potentially) live music and a slice of cake.

What do you think of the idea? Is it viable? Do you know if anything like this already exists?

Thanks.

George

So the idea is that you have a shop that exclusively sells coffee with alcohol in it, rather than just straight coffee? What is the advantage of this over going to a pub or any other licensed premises and buying eg a coffee with grand marnier etc from there?

Try serving it in large plain takeout coffee cups in the morning with a back ally entrance, open say 8-5, and you might have something, lol.

I purposly avoid coffee after about 3pm so I can sleep well at night, I think most people do the same.

If you had a licenced coffee shop that was a great place to go, and alchohol was an option, you would still get the regular coffee crowd, and mabey a few extras ?

Coffee to bring you up and alcohol to send you to sleep together... nice!

Why dead idea ? You never know before you tried it - it might be something that will make a breakthrough!
And any service that is similar to existing one is new.
So you better run for the patent
