Facebook Applications...

I have read quite a bit about Facebook applications really and how people are writing these and making money from the massive user base there.

Does anyone know more about these applications and any examples of successful ones that have done well, and perhaps made money for their creators?

Just noticed this one... yes, there are millions of applications being written on facebook all the time, which probably accounts for most of the emails being sent there.

However I get the impression that the majority of them are actually an annoyance rather than a help - all those invites to add random applications that people get all the time and then filling their profile with loads of weird and wonderful apps!

I imagine there must be some good examples of money making applications out there that have been good earners for their creators, but I'm not aware of any off hand.
