Favourite social networking site...

I thought it might be useful if we come up with a list of our favourite, or at least the most useful, social networking sites - however loosely you want to define that - which have potential for business advantages.

I'll go first and start with the obvious one -

www.facebook.com

Starting a group there is, I'm told, the best way to drive some interest and discussion / articles and news and views around your business.

LinkedIn is a great place to generate interest about your business and to find other interesting businesses to network with.

They have lots of good discussion groups also, concentrating on various markets and niche interests. Well worth a look!

Using Twitter alot lately in conjunction with our business blog and we are getting alot of traffic from that. So right now that would be my favourite

Twitter does seem the best from a sales and/or traffic generating point of view, but I find sometimes that more industry specific networking sties such as BNI UK are better. Although they have smaller amounts of traffic they are much more focused. There are some great videos on www.guruonline.tv/it about social media that we reviewed before doing any of this that I would recommend

Please ignore references to Vijay SI across these pages - this guy spammed us with 150 posts for some Indian website in a matter of minutes and we're currently deleting them all...
