Finding copied website content...

Here's a useful web link for you to check if any other website has potentially been lifting material from your website (it does happen!)

http://www.copyscape.com

Just enter your webpage address and it'll try and see if it can find if anyone else is using your content.

They also have a small image that you can download and add to your site saying that it is protected in that manner - may make some think twice about stealing content!

How about finding copied images? I have seen many reports of people who have been sued for thousands of pounds as other sites have noticed they have 'borrowed' their images, but how do they go about searching the net so efficiently for their images?

Not sure but I imagine that visiting google images or similar and searching for the name of your image would be a possibility.

Also some people actually link to the image directly on your server and therefore you can pick these ones up more easily...

Thanks for the reply. You're probably right - I guess it would be difficult to create a search engine that looked for images that seemed similar!
