Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has experience of using Google Checkout?

And if so what your thoughts are on it and how good/bad it is relative to the other players in the market...

Thanks

Tim

Hello, well I have just downloaded a new version of Shop Factory, and we have been dealing with paypal for our basket checkouts, but Pay Pal are getting most of the profits from sales, and I see that the Google basket is available to use in my new shop, so I will let you know how things go.
bye
David

I added google checkout to our shop and it seems to work ok. The real added bonus is getting the checkout and cart logos next to out adwords and product listings, it helps our listings to standout more.

Well, for me ... i'll go for Paypal(or any payment gateway) and Google Checkout together ...

google checkout is a excellent module but unfortunately very few people using it.

if you are using shopping cart website, then you can always install google base module in which you can sell in google directly + Checkout from google itself...

Through that module you can bring traffic to your site and make good sales.

Thanks for the input Dot3Studio. I agree that google checkout appears good but its penetration of the market seems to be extremely low - at least in the UK, maybe it is different elsewhere. Paypal or more sophisticated solutions still seem to be what the majority of sites use.

I hadn't realised about the benefit of getting the checkout and cart logo next to an adwords listing which I agree would help make it stand out Ricwood, and the google base module I had never heard of Dot3Studio but that also sounds like something worth considering.

So in short it might be worth looking into google checkout for the 'spinoff' benefits rather than purely for the sake of being another way of taking the payment...

Google Checkout and PayPal are good for any ecommerce sites.

Still surprised at the lack of places where I see google checkout... paypal still appears to be dominating!

Personally I do not think much of Google Checkout.

Paypal is what most buyers trust and look for anyway.

Can't think I've ever been aware of a google checkout option at an ecommerce site... paypal seems very common!
