Help- SEO expert out there?...

Kind of a long story, but here is the short version:

Our website: http://www.quick-charts.com seems to be penalized for 1 search term "chiropractic software" on Google.

Our ranking is in the 90s which is bad since our old domain was top 15 or so for same term. The new website is much cleaner, better design for seo and should be easily top 10.

Other misc info:
Our rankings on other search engines is pretty good for this term (8 on yahoo, 34 on MSN) and our rankings on other terms for google are really high (chiropractic notes, chiropractic soap notes).

If anyone can help, or point us in the right direction it would be so awesome.

Im currently having a website built and would like any tips on improving the site if possible. I know some pages are duplicated at the moment and it is still very much a work in progress so im not looking for content feed back more about the way the site has been built / what can be improved upon etc.

Are you sure it is being penalised... it could just be that the google algorithm doesn't treat your content as important for that search term as the other search engines; people tend to optimise for google more than the others!

I agree with Stephen. I don't think the site is penalised, because if it was it wouldn't be ranked at all, but google probably isn't convinced there is enough content on your site related to the term 'chiropractic software' in order for them to give you a higher ranking.

It's hard to get things write with google straight away. It's always trial & error really! My site is also ranked number 1 on yahoo for 'find accountants' & 'find an accountant', but nowhere near as high on google!

It may be because your new site is yet to develop a trust within Google. you will need to have the same number of quality links if not more pointing to your new site if you are to achieve the same rankings as the old one.
