Invest in Real Estate or Stocks???...

I have some amount of earnings apart from the ones that I save for my necessities. I want the earnings invested in some real estate or may be in stocks. I do have some knowledge on stocks but, earlier my cousin had invested in the stocks and had a set-back. I know that you need to be updated in that but – What is a better option from the two???

Real Estate or Stocks ---- I would prefer real estate just for the sake that I don’t know much about the stocks ….. but as the case with your cousin goes …. I would advice you to have some investments in the [http://blog.ira-401k-realestate.com/about/]real estate market as the place is at a boom now and you may get good returns for the investments there. Being updated on the stock market is a must for investments there but I find investment a risk in the stock market.

Real estate now is quite risky, especially with mortgage companies getting tougher on customers. I would say invest in a few years time when the economy improves. With stocks it is risky and you need to be on the ball. The best investments now are to invest in land or hedge fund. Both have great returns.

When you are investing in stock, there is always some risk but Mutual fund is different, It invests your money in a pools of stocks, So it is less risky and it is more profitable.

The safest option with shares is generally deemed to be some sort of index tracker, i.e. one that invests across the range of stocks and shares. Investing in a particular sector of the market is riskier, and investing in a single share is riskier again - as in eggs in all one basket.

General advice I read is never invest in the stocks and shares more than you can afford to lose, believe most recommend no more than 10% of your assets in stocks/shares as a guideline.

Good luck!

I think it is a VERY risky time to invest in property / real estate - a braver man/woman than me, certainly!

I have to agree with most of the sentiment above - this is a very risky time to invest in the stock market.
