Does anybody have any idea about landing pages and how do they work you convert? If any, can you optimize this page to drive traffic?

Thank you,

Hi Abdel

Apologies for being slow, but what is a landing page... presumably its different from a normal first page you see when you go to a web site?

The landing page or destination page is simply the page a person comes through to after clicking a link.

These most come into focus with advertising campaigns where a company pays for advertising - the landing page as that which the user comes through to when they click... poetically a bit like where they land after a flight!

It is particularly important to convey the required message quickly and effectively on these pages and so the relative strength of the landing page can greatly increase or decrease the efficacy of a marketing campaign.

The key is to make it clear what the call to action is, and not to confuse or clutter with too many details and information.

Dan!

I can't agree more
Perfect explanation especially the poetic part. We cannot ignore the fact that this page leads the navigator to CTA (namely; call to action). Dan! Can we call it a squeeze page too? I think we can as it is the page where users are to submit their info details and email addresses which you can use for specific campaigns. Money is in the list and this is the list.

Hi Abdel

Squeeze pages are a specific type of landing page which try to get you to cough up your email address as you say - this from wikipedia:
Squeeze pages are landing pages created to solicit opt-in email addresses from prospective subscribers

Cheers

There's so much jargon out there, maybe we should create some sort of 'jargon buster' glossary on here!

I generally think that it depends on the market.

You can alt text/tag images which will help slightly but, good keyword rich copy subtly added will also do the trick
