More UK taxes on talking....

I have heard that Labour are bringing in a charge for 50p per month on everyone who has a land line for telephone calls to help pay for Broadband.
I have subscribed to AOL for 9 years now, paid over £15 per month for it, why then should we pay the Government 50 p per month extra on our phone bill?
They tell us they want more people on Broadband services, then charge people who have not even got a PC let alone Broadband.
I think more people will stop being on the net, and just use mobiles for calls as lots do now.

Yes I have seen about this too, the government imposing taxes on those who have a landline. They are brazen and shameless - let's just hope we can finally vote them out and good old Brown who no-one voted for - before they get to introduce this stupid measure!!!

I think we need to recognise here that the Government are in deep deep difficulty with their cash flow.

Expect a great number of little extra taxes like this, from whichever government is running the economy, for the next 5 to 10 years.

And dont ever expect either party to seriously slim down the state machine that is making all this necessary!

Yes your right in what you say, I heard today that we are spending 100 billion now on clearing mines that people have put in countries that have been blowing legs off, pity that it is always the UK that foot (no pun intended) these sort of bills for helping others.
I have not heard of any part of the world sending the UK cash to help build new bridges and things in North west UK.
