MSN is a strange beast, and rankings can shift all over the place for seemingly little explanation; it also has a problem with the relevance of results it returns, google does a much better job.

Two years ago we were on the first page of MSN for certain keywords. Then we suddenly disappeared, we contacted MSN who only directed us to the webmaster site. There was nothing wrong but all references top our website disappeared. One month ago MSN Bot started indexing us again. We are starting to appear again. | |

Part of the reason I never use MSN search is that I find it completely random what sites get returned for the same search from time to time, it really needs to emulate however Google ranks sites to ever have me consider using it again.

I never bother with MSN or Yahoo as 80% of people use Google in the UK, there is little point!

Google is the only worthwhile search engine, if you want relevant results returned. Some of the sites that come top for important searches in the other engines can often beggar belief.

Google is the only worthwhile engine because of it's popularity, take that away and then what?

MSN's new browser, Bing, shows a few signs of promise but is nothing special yet, stay with google for now.
