Have any online retailers found it difficult to get your products listed acurately on Google product search as many of us have encountered?

Also what's your experience using Google product search do you think its any good?

The difficulty with the product search thing is providing the information in the right format.

There's no doubt that they don't make it as easy as they could, but I think they like that because people who are willing to work out how to list and get the data in the right format probably have a product that is more likely to be worth selling! It is hard though.

You should definatly get a data feed going, and it actualy helps if you have an active adwords account they tend to send you more traffic.

You really must make sure your description is relevant, if you put things like this is the best, or best price etc mixed into the description they will penalize you.

It tooke me a very long time to get my data feed actualy up and running, and now I wish I had done it sooner.

When you mean penalize do you mean in terms of Rank or banning you from their product pages?

The data feeds work fine once they work fine, if that makes any sense, but can be pretty tricky to make in the first place.

It was easier when it was called, I think, google base (or something like that) in the past and could make a real difference to your traffic and sales when you got a high listing... seems to make less difference now.

Regarding Google Base or Google Product search just to let everyone know there is now speacilist technology that for online retailers will manage the whole process of moving there products into the Google shopping pages, it will also automatically uploads new products on your website and for free.

If anyones bored of or still having problems with those horrible product feeds the sites here http://bit.ly/5dz7i9
