Yes of course it is - it means that many jobs go overseas, when there are 3.6 million people unemployed over here (or whatever the real figure is).

It also ensures that jobs at the lower end of the skill level over here are kept low with no pressure to increase them as companies will just move even more overseas if staff decide to strike for higher wages in those sorts of jobs.

Definitely a bad trend and one that hopefully the government will stop soon.

But business needs to have the right product and service at the lower cost, when you do that in the same country, you can get that quality at the higher money expense. Isn't what business must have, a lower cost but doesn't compromise quality?

It is bad for the country but at the same time it is good because it makes our company's more efficient so in theory they make more money and pay bigger taxes to the government. Without outsourcing, some companies would struggle to survive in the current economic climate.

The whole point of being in business is to make money, so businesses are basically going to do whatever they can to make money, regardless of the ethical issues.

To be honest even the consumers aren't really bothered as they just want things as cheap as possible.

Its very simple, and you dont have to figure in company profits and taxes into it, it works like this.

If you employ people in other countries you are sending money out of the country. So the country loses money.

Of course that is bad for the country.

If you can justify it by taking more international money back into the country from it then I guess it will help.

I used to work for HP and they started outsourcing to India and Costa Rica, and the customers did not like the poor english or heavy accents, even though HP had payed for training in westen manners and customes, customers were unable to relate to the people. There were a lot of angry, once loyal customers.

Will it really still be a profit at the end of the decade? Or only short term gains?

Everytime you buy a product that was imported, the county lost the money that was spent bringing the product into your county.

Like I said it is obviously bad for the country to outsource, but businesses won't stop because it saves them money & that is every business person's goal at the end of the day.
