Paper Shredder Required...

By: Lianne West [3-January-08 8:10PM]

... any recommendations as to a good one?

I have lots of papers to shred on a regular basis (mainly household related!) and have decided I'm now paranoid enough about people going through my bins to need a decent shredder.

If anyone here uses one that is fairly cheap and reliable then please post a link.

Thanks!

Lianne

Hi Lianne

Do you get sent those catalogues from Staples and Vikings Direct all the time?

They usually have some good offers on... just dug out the latest one from one of them and it has a shredder for £20 which doesn't sound too bad... email if you're interested and I'll send over the catalogue number to you

If I remember correctly you usually get something random like a free coffee maker when ordering from one of those places too

We got our shredder from Woollies (around £20) and although we appeared to overwork the first one (overheated and broke), they did replace it without quibbling (always with a receipt). They are rather noisy but do the job.

Happened to see one in Sainburys reduced to just £13 yesterday if you're still looking!

In the end I found one in Debenhams of all places in a post Christmas sale!

On a more serious note, I would recommend everyone shreds anything that contains any sort of personal information whatsoever - someone in our road had their bins disturbed last week, it could have been foxes (there's enough about around here) but it does make you stop and think too...
