Publishing a book...

Does anyone have any thoughts on the processes you need to go through and the costs involved with producing and getting published (printed) a short run of a book?

Thanks

Tim

Hi Tim

It depends if you want to self publish or not. If you do, then you need to format all the material yourself then use something like lulu.com to publish it.

If you want to get it published, then you need to approach publishers in the first place with your idea for the book and see if you can drum up some interest...

I have also head Diggory Press recommended before, though have not looked in detail at the options.

The ecademy press might also be an option depending exactly what you are looking for and what skills you do or don't have yourself / in house.

If you are interested send me a PM and I can pass on the details of a couple of contacts on ecademy who would be worth talking to.

Cheers

Do you want to self publish, or try and get someone to publish on your behalf?

Sorry Chris,

Didn't notice this before (too far the list of forums to scroll down!)

Interested in either option; it's only a vague idea I'm exploring right now so nothing definite at all.

HI!

You could try contacting Mark or Rob at Short Run Press in Exeter. They should be able to help you to get start.
