What help would you like?

SEO isn't as hard as it is time consuming.

You basically need to make sure that the content of your pages is relevant to what you are trying to promote & market. The text needs to flow when reading & should incorporate your main key phrases throughout (but not over the top, usually about 4%).

You need to make sure the meta tages of your site are correct & mention your main key phrase for that page. The meta title is the most met tag.

Google doesn't give much importance to the keyword meta tag but Yahoo & MSN do, so it is important to put your key phrases in the keyword meta tag if you are trying to get ranked on Yahoo & MSN.

It is also good to have a generic domain name (which you seem to have got already, so well done).

The above is just a brief overview of 'pm paage optimisation'. The most important part of SEO is building back links to your site & this is called 'off page optimisation' & is the hardest part of SEO & is something that even I could do with some help on, if any one has any advice to give.

Back links can be built by joining & posting on forums & getting yourselves added to directories, etc, but I always wonder if a lot of posts from one forum are counted as multiple back links or just one back link because they are from the same forum/domain name.

You may even know a lot of the above, because you seem to have picked a generic domain name, got good content & meta tags on your site anyway! I can see you're trying to use your signture on this forum to build a back links to your site, but for some reason yours is also showing up as mine (just code, rather than actual links), which I am also confused about!

I hope the above helps (or at least re-iterates what you already know). If you or anyone can add anything else, then please do so as it would be good learn from others experiences.

And if anyone can adivse on how to get hyperlinks in our signature, that would be great as well!

Wow thats a website you dont see everyday.

Im using search engine optimisation for dummies right now, its a very good book, you should pick it up. I really don't think you will have too much competition for what your marketing. Make sure you drop the areas you work in a few times.

Does that book just give a brief overview of SEO or does it go in to more depth? I've read some advanced books on SEO but sometimes it's the simple things that get left out or looked over.

Does this book give any advice on how to write good content for google?

Findaccountant and PBScott your feedback is much appreciated and yes i do know a little but i have paid for someone to build me this site. I suppose really i want to make sure im getting my monies worth. Having said that the guy that built it i think has done a greta job but id still like to know if anything could be improved on?

For someone with your background, you need to make sure you stick the Google guidelines and keep yourself updated with the changes to the search engines by subscribing to SEO newsletters. Alternatively, you could make an investment and get a professional to do it for you.
