Should we waste money on VOIP comms...

I have used VOIP for about 7 years now, I think Skype is too costly to get any honest market over BT or any other telephone group, and for Skype to charge £5 for £10 of phone credit load-up it works our cheaper on BT by 50% now anyway as BT users get FREE calls at night, and all weekend, where as Skype you still will be paying 3p per min inc VAT.
I have got a VOIP group I joined 3 years ago I use now and again on my PC called voup-talk 1p per min all the time, but what people have to remember is that to use VOIP on any PC, Laptop you need to still have a telephone line by BT or another group anyway, as voip will need a line to make it go yes? so ask yourself, you may as well use your normal phone.
