You need to have a clear idea of where your strengths lie to succeed in business, and then think of a product or a service you can offer that uses your expertise, that you are passionate about, and you believe you can make a success of.

Take the time to think through clearly before starting on your own and try to do it for positive reasons rather than negative ones.

Rather than looking at systems others suggest you can use to help you do business, I would recommend very much to come up with your own ideas - during the tough times the fact it is something you know about and are passionate about will help with your chances of making it a success.

There are rarely any real shortcuts to success. With so many people vying to obtain business it is usually those who are dedicated and hardworking who manage to make something of their ventures.

Hard work, hard work and did I mention... hard work! I have tinkered with several ideas over the years and still not come up with something concrete. However I am sure that one day I will and can then work on it full time rather than part time. The satisfaction of making even a penny yourself rather than through paid employment elsewhere is the real reward for the true entrepreneur (though I am the first to admit making a small fortune would not go down too badly either!)
