The world is really a big place. We are endowed with resources to feed, clothe and house all if we are generous enough. But we are not for history endorses this.
I am from a small village in Nepal.I come of an agrarian background. My father was a small farmer. Now I am a banker, settled in a city.
I am comfortably well off now. But I feel that I must do something for my villagers who are stormed with hand-to-mouth problems. There is poverty in the village. I can not do anything. Charity too does not work in the long term. I do not believe in temporary reliefs.
I want to raise their living conditions / standards. The single most important thing I can do is help them with farming.
Here all I want to ask is: can we market or sell abroad? The village has fertile soils. The villagers are hardworking simple folks. The problem with them is they are hooked to traditionally run age old farming systems, using old implements.I want to go there and revolutionize the farming method. The only fear I have is to find a profitable market for the products or accesses to the market.
The major products being grown there are rice and vegetables. One more thing I have in mind is to grow organic crops.
I want to address all here if they can share better ideas that can help the poor folks grow rich.
