Thoughts on FSB Membership...

Any thoughts on the Federation of Small Business?

One of my friends joined recently and so far all they have had is a quote for insurance with a hefty mark-up added which they got cheaper by going direct, and 4 - 5 spam phone calls from other 'members' offering their services...

I have heard mixed stories myself - I think it depends on whether you need to use the services or not - if you do it tends to lead to positive feedback, if you don't really use the services but just notice the downsides then the opposite is true

It is like 99% of memberships in the UK they take your money that you have surplus to requirements, I belonged to 5 groups up to last year, total cost of all for the year 2008 was £290.
I this year cut 4 I never heard from till my yearly membership was due, not even a magazine worth £3 from them, and I think the money I saved is better in my bank than theirs.
