Trouble with sending bulk emails...

Hi,

I have recently acquired 700,000 emails through a partnership arrangement. However I have been unable to send emails in bulk as my host says I can't. I need to go through an email marketing company who would handle the load for large fees.

Any advice on the best way to send bulk emails and monetizing the email list.

Cheers

Use a service like constant contact or aweber. The charges might be quite high to send to such a large list.

Remember that most people you send to will think you are spamming them if it seems to be coming from someone / a company they've never heard of, so make clear that you obtained the addresses legitimately in your email.

700k Wow. If the list is any good then get yourself a dedicated email server and drip feed to it. I have 3 servers, one just for emailing to my subscribers. We have 38k and I can email to them all in under 30 minutes so you could easily email them all once per day. My server costs around $200 per month so assuming your list is any good then it would be very worthwhile and cost effective for you to get your own.

You may of course need a techy to set it up for you and you will also need some emailing software.

On a different note - You say partnership, no offence but 700k is a lot of emails and anyone with an opt in list of that size should already have systems in place for using it in an effective manner. Are they opt in? Even if they are opt in, are they opt in to you? Sorry, sounds fishy to me

That is an extremely large list, I too would worry about the quality of such a large list... it must be very general as there probably aren't 700,000 people in the whole country who are so interested in a particular topic unless it is something like football!

Depending on how much the email marketing company would charge you. if it excess £200, it is advisable to purchase your own email marketing software and do the task by yourself.

You can search for bulk email services. Many companies are offering that, so you have to choose which one fits your needs.

I assume you already know that most database providers put sleepers in their databases. Avoid problems by making sure the data does come from a reliable source.

Having your own server may be the most secure option.

Because you are asking for something you can't get...you can't email 700,000 people the "free way". And the honest people here are guessing that you are about to potentially illegally spam a lot of people who won't necessarily want your email.

Use a consistent IP address to send bulk mail.
Use the same address in the 'From:' header on every bulk mail you send. I hope it will help you.
