Using post it notes instead of business cards...

Hi,

Just looking for some advice. I am trying to be "different" from the competition and instead of a business card I though about giving away a post it note pad instead.

Has anyone done this before, or used note pads as gift. Do you think it is a good idea?

Second question is where do I buy them from. I may try it out on a small batch first. Can anyone recommend a company.

I have tried http:// www.3m.com and also http://www.note-pads.co.uk which had a good selection. Any thoughts?

I would only use post it pads as a gift through the post, say to an existing client with a pen or something but i would definately use "cards only" at a business meeting. They are much more intimate and fit in the wallet, I use credit card type PVC business cards, everybody is suprised when they see them, we chose quality over quantity. try www.eyecatchers.co.uk or .com im not sure!!

hope this helps?

Sounds like a good idea - if you can be different for an interesting reason through being innovative then surely that can only help your business.

Post it note or a good business card; it’s an interesting question but picking up on your comment about wanting to be different.

What is different from your competition, why should someone do business with you?

That’s the important question to address from your prospective customer/clients point of view.

You may have of course addressed this, but if you haven’t that’s what I’d focus firstly, rather than the question of using a business card or a post it note to communicate your message

What’s in it for me, if I was going to consider using your products or services?

I hope this helps.

If you can get it done without spending too much money, then I guess it would be worth a try. Certainly post-it notes are always useful to have around, whereas business cards get filed away or lost often never to be seen again, so it could be a good way of getting your brand infront of customers or potential customers for longer!
