Hello

Wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction - I have been sent a powerpoint set of slides by a friend, however I don't have powerpoint on this machine, is there anyway that I can view their contents without paying for powerpoint?

Thanks

Lianne

You can download the viewer directly from Microsoft here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=428d5727-43ab-4f24-90b7-a94784af71a4&displaylang=en

Or if you need a full Office application suite and dont want to pay the £300 licence fee to Microsoft, I highly recommend Open Office www.openoffice.org ). It is completely free and will do pretty much anything that MS Office does.

cheers,
Tema.

Hi Lianne

If you just need to view it and nothing else then definitely go with the viewer at the link pointed to above.

Open Office is reasonable but it is not 100% compatible with MS Office and powerpoint and Access tends to be the two with the lowest compatibility.

If you want to simply view then use the MS viewer. If you want to create and not share then open office is great. If you are going to be sending soft copies to others then you will probably have to bite the bullet
