What Makes A Business Logo Recognizable?...

Hello..
Is it the logo itself? the quality of the art work? the colors or font? Why in the world do we all know the McDonalds logo? or Nike? or Coke?

Could it possibly be the billions of dollars spent on putting that logo in front of the public eye?

What do you think ?

Thank you in advance.....

Well the arches and the swoosh are extremly simple designs, and easy to recognize I think that helps them burn the image into our brain.

I don't think the money makes much difference - it just takes one good creative idea.

For instance the olympics 2012 logo is universally acknowledge as total rubbish and cost a fortune; some of the most symbolic and recognisable logos in the world were created many years ago internally by a company for very little money.

Things like the recognisable mcdonalds 'm' is very simple.

Most logos that I think are good have something distinctive or eye catching about them. They also tend to be quite simple however, I think this helps to make them instantly memorable as anything too ornate is hard to commit to mind.
