When Does 'Trade Pricing' Begin...

One thing that I have often wondered about, when people say they are buying at trade rates or with a trade discount and so on...

At what level of goods do you need to buy to be able to buy at trade prices? 10, 100, 1000? Or does it more depend on the cost of the item?

And is buying at trade prices the same as buying wholesale, or are those totally different things?

Hi Lianne

I imagine the answer is along the lines of 'how long is a piece of string' - it must depend very heavily on what it is you are buying, and the price of the item too.

I agree. One of my clients sell office stationery and furniture at reduced prices, and must be bordering on trade price. For some items the market is simply pushing prices to the point where worrying about trade prices is irrelevant.
