Will Apple IT Dominate Again in 2011?...

The last few years "cool" IT has been dominated by Apple, with everyone having powerful ipods and iphones which are basically mini computers.

Then last year came the iPad, and everyone had to get one of those - and some companies are now starting to buy them for their employees and so there could even be a tipping point where apple gets in with businesses in the way that previously has only really happened for Microsoft and then Research in Motion with the Blackberry.

So what will 2011 hold when it comes to technology... will Apple continue to be the big name and will it possibly release another new iPad to dominate that market, and will they continue to grow their position when it comes to phones too?

It will be interesting to see if any of the other big players that have been asleep at the wheel will stage a comeback or Apple will continue to go from strength to strength...

They seem to have done so well the last few years. I think they will at the very least consolidate their position and if they do move into the business market more then it could be curtains for the likes of blackberry...

Yes!

For the reasons I just gave in another post, I think Apple will continue to do really well this year.

Without repeating too much what I wrote elsewhere, there are too many vested interests now from a huge range of companies that will want to ensure that apps continue to sell, and that means apple devices continuing to do well and sell well, therefore this will ensure that the huge success apple devices have had will continue for a good while to come.

Yes!

Don't think there is much doubt in that. They have got to the point where they could sell chocolate fireguards with an apple logo on.

Not too many years ago they were a company really struggling in a market dominated by Windows.

I really like their products and how the media follows them but wish they would open up a bit e.g. with the apps

I agree, perhaps being a woman this is more relevant than for you guys(?!) but they just look really sleek and attractive and shiny and that's quite an important thing, they look expensive somehow and you want one...

Apple do seem to be a very impressive force, don't they!

The main worry investors appear to have, and certainly it has been widely reported in the media, is around the health of Steve Jobs. It must be testament to his ability that he is held in such high regard by those in the known that the fortunes of one company are being tied to one individual.
