Hi everyone! I have recently set up my own website & looking for any suggestions on marketing & ways to promote it further. The site specialises in Business feedback & everything is published manually.
We are working the social sites & Business Forums but is there anything else we could be doing??
All advice welcome

Thanks so much & hope you have a great day!

Well... if you're advertising your site on another business forum you should probably link back to them

If you are going to start an New business, do your own research first as it is very significant to be successful in this field. You should understand that you are the boss so you are only to blame for your success or failure.

You will need to invest considerable time and effort making a go of a directory website.

The fact is that there are literally thousands of directory websites out there so you will need to spend time marketing the site so people know what is special or unique about it and therefore why they should choose to use and visit your site versus all the other similar sites out there.

I agree with all the comments above.

Business directories are extremely hard to make a success of. Even if you get lots of people and companies to submit to the directory, then it most cases all this will mean is that you are increasing your hosting costs.

I'm not aware of any business directory that makes a return on them - I mean how do you monetise and turn the visits into profit, which is presumably what you ultimately want?

I'm biased of course, but one option you might wish to consider is to pay somebody to market your business for you while you get on with your core work.

You really need a hook, something that makes you stand out from the crowd.

You should be prepared to allocate a fair amount of time and resources to marketing your directory - link building is a must.

I personall wouldn't go into the directory market - its incredibly saturated already and the potential for a profitable business is quite low.

Still, if you have what it takes then you can still enter a crowded market and make a success of it.

Good luck!
