Your Favourite Ecommerce System?

There are many ecommerce systems out there which are open source (free to use). Which one of these is your favourite and why - particularly, which would you recommend to someone looking to build a site for the first time?

I have tried quite a few of these when we were building our company formation system. In the end we had to go for a bespoke one in order to get the features we really needed. Web developers in the States did it for us and although the time difference was an issue, in the end we were given exactly what we wanted. Vicky Lyons
