You need to have a clear idea of where your strengths lie to succeed in business, and then think of a product or a service you can offer that uses your expertise, that you are passionate about, and you believe you can make a success of.

In addition to Sasha's good advice - it's also a good idea to find out what there is a demand for and see if you can find a special twist on that.

Rather than looking at systems others suggest you can use to help you do business, I would recommend very much to come up with your own ideas - during the tough times the fact it is something you know about and are passionate about will help with your chances of making it a success.

There are rarely any real shortcuts to success. With so many people vying to obtain business it is usually those who are dedicated and hardworking who manage to make something of their ventures.

To add to the above I would say research, research, research. Who are your comepetetors? How do they run their businesses. How do they differ from each other, how are they the same, what could you do differently, what could you improve on.......
